“Yankee traders” doesn’t seem like a term general enough to be used in an explanation. You can barely Google it but it seems to be an extremely obscure Southern U.S. insult at the expense of the North. Definitely not something “we might today call” anybody. Im just saying it doesn’t seem to be a term most English speakers use anymore, seems to have only ever been regional, and stuck out as very mildly inappropriate or out of place.
The length of that post makes it seem like I mean to make an issue of it. Most assuredly not. This was a fantastic episode and I thank you for it. Cheers! 🙂
